Training delivery

School-based apprenticeships and traineeships combine work with structured training.

The training is most effective when it is designed to suit the qualification, the needs of the employer, and the needs and learning style of the school-based apprentice or trainee.

Training can be delivered using a variety of methods and in a range of environments.

SRTOs may choose to deliver training using flexible delivery methods such as:

Training may be provided:

If agreed by the SRTO, it may be possible for training to be delivered by a qualified employer in the workplace. This type of training involves the apprentice or trainee developing the set skills as part of normal work. The SRTO supports and mentors the employer and apprentice or trainee, monitors the training delivery, and validates assessments.

The training options must be negotiated and outlined in the training plan.

Training delivered by an SRTO may be funded under the User Choice program.
